So here's what I did today, and why everyone should do it too:
Today started off as a usual day, eventful (kind of upsetting, but y'know how it is) but overall very usual. I had made plans to hang with my best mate Kat, and we roamed a bit. We didn't know what to do, so we were wasting time.
Then, all of a sudden, she remembered a time when one of her pals was bored and decided to make fake blood. We were then compelled to do the same.
It was amazing.
Here's what you'll need:
Blood:
Chocolate syrup
Water
Red Food Dye
Flower
Spoon/fork/whisk (personal preference)
Uniform:
Anything white and eager to be stained red.
What you do:
Make up a batch of chocolate blood. The quantities of each vary depending on the effect you're looking for, and the consistency you want. Start off with a simple mix of water, chocolate syrup, and red dye. use about 1 cup water to 2 tablespoons syrup and go from there. If it's too thin, you've got two options: add more syrup, or add flower. If it's the shade of red you like, add the flower. if it doesn't matter yet, add the syrup.
A benefit of this recipe is that it doesn't taste too bad, so it's all the more fun.
So!
Once the blood is all made up, take a big ol' bowl of it outside (inside is a bit risky, seeing as how this stuff stains and won't come out ever).
The technique Kat and I employed was a simple dip-hand-in-bowl-and-fling method. Cover yourself in it! There's so many options for your horror inspired look. Give yourself some bloody handprints, or just a classic blood spatter (my favored of the two). In the end, you've got a rockin' new wardrobe (perfect for Halloween) and have had a killer *snicker* time doing it.
One of the best things I've done in a long time. Or ever.
So DO IT!
I'll be posting pictures of my battle shirt, and we attacked a few pieces of sketch paper (a 'Dexter' season 2 moment), so I'll be posting those too. Unfortunately, we didn't get any 'in the moment' pics, as we were the only two there and we were throwing fake blood everywhere. Not ideal for handling digital cameras.
So! If you do actually take my advice and do this (I beg you, it's soooo worth it) you should let me know so I can give you TBiG points. If you post pictures, more TBiG points.
Benefit of TBiG points: get enough, I draw you summat.
Free art in exchange for shit-tons of fun.
So again: DO IT!
Have a rockin' day/night/whatever it is where you are
Ta!
